The Hybrid Lab Network developed a series of multidisciplinary learning courses integrating science, art, and humanities, as the project’s Intellectual Output 3.
These modules equip the participants with the ability to understand new concepts in different STEAM subjects, think (and experiment) critically and creatively and act entrepreneurially to develop and apply new ideas. The courses/ modules have STEAM strategies adapted to different contexts and audiences: Higher Education or non-formal education.
Alive Together
Alive Together is an interdisciplinary community for research interests in human/animal/multispecies relationships, developed through the Hybrid Lab Network. Alive Together shares approaches to developing knowledge, teaching and learning methods from the arts, sciences and humanities with an emphasis on building skills in interdisciplinary working methods.
Creative Crispr
The CRISPR Course is an educational module for artists and the general public who are interested in genetic engineering and want to explore CRISPR-Cas9 technologies in a creative context. No prior knowledge about biology or experience in the lab is needed to participate. This pilot course was developed during Hybrid Lab Network activities, and it was tested with students, teachers, and people from different countries and backgrounds.
Unboxing CRISPR
The Unboxing CRISPR: for transdisciplinary learning is a pilot proposal for a course/ module/ curricular unit for higher education aiming to explore CRISPR-Cas9 technologies in a multidisciplinary context, that should include art, design, and humanities students. This pilot course was developed during Hybrid Lab Network activities, and it was tested with students, teachers, and laypeople from different countries and backgrounds.
Into the Blue
The “Into de blue” is a pilot proposal for a course, for higher education. In this course, the color blue is a starting point to explore the interdisciplinarity of knowledge and the relationship between art, science, technology, and humanities. It aims to promote a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving and a transdisciplinary view of topics, using the color blue as a case study.
Humanities on Ethics of Biohacking, Biotech, Engineering and Innovation
The course " Humanities on Ethics of Biohacking, Biotech, Engineering and Innovation" was developed for researchers / PhD students. The course tries to introduce contemporary ethics to researchers in different fields, including social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering.
