INTERDISCIPLINARY INNOVATION WORKSHOP – INTEGRATING THE 4 CULTURES DOMAIN

The “Interdisciplinary Innovation Workshop – Integrating the 4 Cultures Domain” will be coordinated by i3S, in Porto, Portugal and will join staff from the different Hybrid Lab members.  The hands-on Laboratory experiments will be performed at IBMC/i3S laboratory, Waag’s laboratory and Aalto’s laboratory that for 3 days will perform common activities and online communication

The Hands-on practice on microbiology, gene editing, design thinking and encryption will be enhanced with several lectures and examples and in silico exercises which will count on the participation of partner AME.

This workshop aims to promote an intellectually stimulating environment to exchange ideas and forge new collaborations. The workshop’s main aim is to integrate the 4 cultures domain – Arts, Sciences, Engineering/Technology, Humanities – in didactic and multidisciplinary teaching and learning strategies including CRISPR cas 9 technique, Coding and Encryption, Ethics of biohacking-biotechnology-bioengineering and innovation, expanding connections between technological and biological realms.

This multidisciplinary STEAM approach workshop aims to conceptualize, apply and test novel teaching/ learning strategies using a multi-disciplinary approach to the topic of art & science forging connections between technological and biological realms and artistic methods and implementations.
